Eco Serendib Villa has found balance with our carefully calculated blending of indulgence and sustainability.
Not only is St. John an exotic tropical destination, it is an island of significant history. In fact, 67% of the island was donated as a national park by Laurance Rockefeller. In keeping with Rockefeller’s vision of conservation, Eco Serendib Villa is dedicated to offering world-class accommodations operating in harmony with the environment. In fact, Eco Serendib Villa and Spa surpasses expectations in terms of both luxury accommodations and environmental sensitivity.
Serendipity is defined by "making a fortunate discovery by chance.†The villa’s visionary, a proud American born in Sri Lanka, named the retreat after his birth country, which was once called the Island of Serendib. Standing on Point Rendezvous, overlooking the views stretching from Fish Bay to Ram Head, he was filled with a sense of tranquility and unruffled repose.
Passion for excellence, commitment to the environment and the pursuit of creating and delivering international award-winning experiential events have become the hallmark of our parent company, Harith Productions, Ltd. We have invited a select group of companies that are committed to the environment to showcase their products at Eco Serendib Villa. It is our hope that our influential guests will embrace the benefits of such products and educate others, including Chief Procurement Officers at their companies, to purchase such products. It is our hope that once demand for these products increases, the cost of production will decrease, making them practical for the everyday consumer. This will certainly contribute to the reduction of the carbon footprint.
We have made every effort to be luxurious while being green. It is important to state that our philosophy is to "use a few trees to save a million.†We are NOT 100% green. What we have attempted, in our own humble way, is to minimize our carbon footprint by utilizing eco-friendly, and energy efficient products that align with our mission and goals.
Eco-Friendly
Eco Serendib Villa is a eco-friendly, luxury retreat that is setting new standards for eco-luxury on St. John, showcasing how luxury and ecologically sensitive products/systems can co-exist in harmony. Specific examples of eco-friendly elements include: 69 "Buy America" compliant Suniva solar panels, which significantly reduce carbon emissions, and Sub-Zero/Wolf's kitchen appliances, which are made from up to 75% recycled materials and use less energy than a 100-watt bulb. Susan Jablon Mosaics -- featured at the spa and in the pool area, are not only gorgeous but made from 100% recycled glass -- and the gorgeous mulch lining the walkways in the zen garden, produced by The Garden of Glass, is also made from recycled glass. The Andrew Morgan bedding is rich and luxurious yet made of sustainable, organic textile.
There is a grey water system for irrigation as well as three separate 20,000-gallon cisterns to collect rain water. The salt water pool eliminates the need for chlorine and other harsh, damaging chemicals. There is an organic "seed-to-plate" garden located right at the villa for fresh produce and herbs. And for those mixing business with pleasure, the business center technology offers the option for 100% paperless meetings.

Beach Details:
Hawk’s Nest is the closest beach. There are many additional beautiful, white-sand beaches within a short 5-15 minute drive.
Pool Details:
Our salt-infused swimming pool is enhanced with a custom Susan Jablon mosaic tile design. The pool measures 30' x 15' x 3'-4.5' deep.
A relaxing hot tub is located on the overlook near the pool.
Location Details:
Located in Point Rendezvous Estate, on St. John's south shore, overlooking all the way to Ram Head. The villa is approximately 3 miles, or 10 minutes from Cruz Bay.
Villa Notes:
Please note that smoking is prohibited at Eco Serendib Villa, including all outdoor areas.
When the 1 Bedroom (Presidential Suite) is rented, guests have exclusive use of the property
Eco Serendib Spa:
Our private, on-site spa includes a sauna, steam shower, and treatment room, relaxation lounge and sunken tub. Our menu of services includes couples massages, facials, manicures/pedicures, and body wraps.
Gym:
Guests may enjoy complimentary 24-hour access to our on-site gym featuring state-of-the art cardio equipment and weights from Life Fitness.
Epicurean Theater:
An "epicurean theater†has been designed using Sub-Zero/Wolf’s "Living Kitchen†products and appliances. The "epicurean theater†concept, a first for the Caribbean, was created with interactive, theater-style dining in mind. Ten to twelve guests may sit around the granite countertop and enjoy live, educational demonstrations by professional chefs, or simply sit back and watch as a chef prepares their culinary masterpiece. Induction cook-tops, steamers, a wine cooler, and warming drawers fill this professional show kitchen.
During your stay at Eco Serendib Villa, we can provide a professional chef to prepare your meals or you can do the cooking yourself. Dishes, glassware, flatware, cutlery, bake ware, serving pieces, and All-Clad cookware are all provided for your use. A coffee maker, toaster, and frozen drink maker top off the list of professional grade kitchen equipment.

The Need To Know
For rentals of six suites or less, the choice of suites includes Cruz Bay, Reef Bay, Cinnamon Bay, Turtle Bay, Coral Bay, Spa Suite or Caneel Bay. The Presidential Suite is only available for rent on its own, or when renting the entire villa.
Maximum occupancy:
2 adults per room. Rates and fees are subject to change until deposit is received.
During holiday weeks the entire villa must be rented. Holiday weeks include the following:
Thanksgiving -- November 22 - 29, 2014
Winter holidays – December 13 - January 4, 2015 (minimum 10 night stay)
President’s Day – February 16-23, 2014
Easter – April 19 – 26, 2014
All rates are based on a minimum 7 night stay.
Maximum occupancy: two per room. An additional charge of $100 per night will apply to children staying in parents’ room.
Tier 1:
Meet and Greet at the Villa upon arrival
Orientation of the villa including showing and demonstrating how things work in each of the rooms and the villa
Availability of Manager/Concierge on Duty via telephone and in person during predetermined hours
Tier 2:
Meet and Greet at the ferry dock
Open safari vehicle ride to the villa
ES signature arrival (piano, lemongrass tea, champagne, hors d’oeuvres, cold towels)
Orientation of the villa including showing and demonstrating how things work in each of the rooms and the villa
Daily refresher maid service. (Refresher is defined as making beds, cleaning the
bathroom and emptying trash.) Please note as part of our mission we will be changing
bed linen only once a week. Towels will be changed mid-week. Guests may opt out of
this and we will make a $100.00 donation to our St. John beach restoration/tree planting project.
Concierge service is available upon request at no additional cost during pre-determined hours and via telephone.
Tier 3:

At your service†butler style package. Professional staff available from 7am to 7pm each day. Hours can be adjusted according to guests’ wishes.

Your host, also known as assistant/butler/inn keeper (one staff member), will be available to you between the hours of 7 am – 12 pm and 2pm – 7 pm, and at other times via telephone. This is the person to go to for all needs.
Bell staff member available the day of arrival and departure.
Full service housekeeping staff will be available to attend to all of the above listed duties.
